Our Mission and Vision
We are a charitable organization that serves to remove financial barriers to create equitable opportunities that empower Durham District School Board students to achieve academic and personal success.
What We Do
We work directly with school staff to support students who face financial barriers to success, providing essentials that fall within our five funding pillars. These essentials could be:
- food for a hungry tummy
- warm boots for a pair of cold, wet feet
- a backpack full of school supplies
- a youth joining a club or team
- a bus pass to get a teenager to school
- a college application package to set up a student for post-secondary success
Our goal is to support children and youth in need throughout their DDSB career, consistently reducing poverty related stress and strengthening our community.
Our Pillars break down the specific initiatives that seek to make this a reality, but there are a number of other initiatives across the Board as well.
